This waterfall design is inspired by a photograph I took while walking in a national park in the Borneo rain forest. The background is constructed using raw edge applique and a variety of mostly batik fabrics to create the impression of the rich colours and textures of the forest and rocks. The trees, rocks and plants are also added using raw edge machine appliqué.The design is finished with machine quilting using invisible and variegated cotton threads.
