This appliqué design is a close up detail of a plant I photographed growing in the jungle. I have used a wide variety of different green fabrics to create the detail of the veins and shading in the leaves and each segment is individually pieced and applied. The wall hanging is quilted with invisible thread  following the lines of each vein and in the borders I have used a cotton thread and meander quilting to complete the design.
