This design is my interpretation of a traditional Iban design. The Ibans are one of the indigenous races of Borneo and their artwork can be seen adorning many traditional items.

The central motif is hand appliquéd using a multi-dyed batik fabric on a light tone on tone background with a batik leaf printed fabric in the border. Machine stipple quilting makes the central motif stand out further from the background.
