Anne Maundrell designs

This waterfall design is inspired by a photograph I took while walking in a national park in the Borneo rain forest.

The background is appliquéd using a variety of mostly batik fabrics to create the impression of the rich colours and textures of the forest.

The trees, rocks and plants are added using machine appliqué.

Organza and netting are used to add shading and highlights. Thread

couching, machine embroidery and decorative quilting finish off the piece and add further texture and depth to the design.
