This design features one of our cats sitting on the patio wall admiring the tropical sunset. If you have looked at the cats and quilts gallery you’ll realize that cats are very much a part of our home, so it was only a matter of time before I had to include one in a quilt.

This quilt is made from a combination of my own hand painted fabric for the sky and commercial batiks in the rest of the design. It is constructed using a variety of appliqué techniques and embellished with machine embroidery and quilting. In the border I have used a variegated thread which echoes the sunset and accent border colours.
